As concept artists, we can dream up some big ideas. In 1989, Back to the Future II showed us what 2015 could possibly look like. We saw the rise of hoverboards, holographic sharks, and Marty McFly’s auto-lacing Nike Air Mags. On October 4th, 2016, Nike turned that concept into reality. With the help of engineers and artist, Nike introduced a fully-functional power-lacing system that was once only a dream for kids in the 80's.
Just like at Nike, here at iMT we believe that innovation is driven by art, science, and engineering so we’re excited to announce the launch of our Engineering Eye series. The Engineering Eye series is an opportunity for artists from all backgrounds to submit their ideas to iMT for engineering review. Each Engineering Eye episode carefully reviews artwork submissions for Artistic View, Engineering Eye Perspective, and Engineering Curiosity.
Our latest Engineering Eye episode is available and features one of our iMT board members Elliot Devries and his Moon Rover. Check out our first Engineering Eye episode and tell us what you think. If you like what you see, please share this episode and subscribe to our YouTube channel Future Avenues. Also, if you’d like us to review your concept design, please submit your artwork to the iMT forum Engineering Eye thread. We can't wait to see what you come up with.
